General
This studio takes complex built environments from large scale to
small scale. Issues and project types such as urban design, housing,
campus design, or community design may be used to explore the range
of issues, decisions, etc. that impact a large project from its
first conceptual explorations to finalized detail design. This studio
builds upon the inter-relation of issues and skills mastered in
previous courses.
Objectives
Continued applications of landscape architectural design process,
with special emphasis upon the relationship of complex issues and
the interconnection of decisions from one phase of the design process
to another.
Continued development of communication skills, particularly the building of a package of related products.
Format
*lectures and discussions based on lectures and readings, Lecture
topics include but are not limited to :
--professional office time-saving techniques
--published models of similar projects and their methodologies
--community design
--mixed used development
*studio project applications
Textbook
Reserved readings, selected references, and texts from previous
courses.
