Education: Bachelors or Associates Degree, or the equivalent at a Technical
Institute
Experience/Skills: -AutoCAD
-Drafting/Blueprint reading experience
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Superior organizational skills
-Superior Inter-personal skills
-Superior customer service skills
-Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
-Knowledge of the window and door trade an asset
Position
Responsibilities:
Main Function
Summary: The overall function of the Estimator/Architectural Support
Representative is to act as a support function to the window and door
sales process in a technical manner by creating estimates from
blueprints using manufacturer’s estimating software, providing shop
drawings, creating materials lists and obtaining pricing and approvals
from manufacturers for window and door projects.
TheEstimator/Architectural Support Representative must also possess
the skills to transmit the information created for the specific projects to
the client and installation personnel, and provide answers to questions
relating to the information being provided.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliverable 1: Sales Process Support Function
Responsibilities: -Create estimates from blueprints using custom pricing program
-Process pricing and approvals with manufacturers
-Create shop drawings using CAD
-Calculate structural mulls from pre-engineered schedules or tables
-Process transmittals to clients
-Provide technical assistance to clients and installation staff as needed
-Maintain documents in as organized, professional manner
Deliverable 2: Determine Specification and Product Suitability
Responsibilities: -Ensure product being quoted meets written specifications
-Ensure product being quoted is suitable for specified job i.e.,
required design pressures for specific wind zones
-Provide product approvals to clients as needed
-Provide product specifications and product information to clients as
needed
Deliverable 3: Personal Development
Responsibilities: -Maintain a complete understanding of current product Approvals
-Maintain a complete understanding of new and changing Loewen
products and policies
-Maintain a complete understanding of building codes related
to window and door installations
Additional
Responsibilities: In the event that no other staff is available, the Estimator/Architectural Support Representative will greet and assist walk-in clients and participate in trade shows.
