Construction Management Intern - Req. ID 175363.  This position is located in Orlando, FL. 
Semester Needed: Current – February 2009
As an intern on the Construction Management team, you will be working on some the following projects including:

    • Change Order Reviews/Settlements - Aid Construction Management team in the review process of the quantities and man hours submitted for change orders on the Annex project.
    • Turnover Documentation - Review Operation & Maintenance Manuals, Warranty, and Attic Stock documentation from the General Contractor to ensure all turnover documentation is submitted correctly and completes contract requirements.
    • Document Control - Aid the project architect in updating the record set contract documents with the current RFI's/directives.
    • Field Coordination - Team will utilize the intern to assist walking field issues/items with the General Contractor and WDI, photo documentation of the on-site construction processes, and documentation of on-site walk-throughs with General Contractor and Owner Representatives.
    • Turnover - Intern will help document and monitor completion of punch list and/or "completion items" for turnover.

Required Qualifications:

    • Candidate must be a junior, senior or graduate-level college student studying Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel; and Adobe PhotoShop.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented department.
    • Ability to take directions as well as anticipate needs and potential challenges and address them accordingly
    • Proven experience in leadership and strategic thinking.
    • Applicants must be prepared to submit a representative portfolio of work done (group projects are acceptable).

Desired Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation, ARCAD, etc.)
    • Basic knowledge of blue prints including reading and creation.

This position requires the intern to have the use of a motor vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
