COMANCO is seeking an
Estimator for our corporate office in Plant City, FL.
A qualified candidate will have
experience in the entire estimating process including prequalification of
vendors and subcontractors, take offs, budgetary estimates, bidding of the
project, negotiating of subcontracts, initial project scheduling. Other duties include: reviewing proposal
specifications to determine scope of work, maintaining working documents as a
back-up for estimate figures, reviewing and accurately estimating the
costs of the work described in the project documents.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
The ability to
predict the direct and indirect cost of work is paramount to being
successful. As an Estimator, you are responsible
for:
- Performing Quantity Takeoff of the Work using
Agtek Software
- Performing Estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid
Software
- Sending request for quotes to vendors and
suppliers
- Submitting request for clarifications to the
owner or engineer prior to bid date
- Setting the Proposal Language (Terms and
Conditions) for Building the Work
- Capturing the Risk Factors and Windfall
Opportunities of the Work
- Transferring your knowledge to the Project
Manager and Field Supervisor Promptly Once Project is awarded
KEY DUTIES TO PERFORM:
- Represent your
company in a professional manner to clients, architects, consultants,
project partners and the general public
- Manage the
process effectively from the initial hand-off of plans to the hand-off to
the field after winning the bid. This includes managing the
take-off, pricing and bidding process along with important relationships,
cost and budget issues, as well as Client demands.
- Administer the contractual aspects of the project bidding process in order to
maximize profitability and minimize the risk for your firm.
- Proactively communicate information to immediate supervisor and field
personnel, project partners, and vendors to enable them to work toward the
successful start (and completion) of the project schedule.
You are to assist
the project manager in initial sequencing of construction activities, outlining
components such as labor, materials and equipment. You are responsible to
ensure that the work environment is productive between the project manager,
field manager and yourself.
Requirements:
Knowledge
of Agtek takeoff software and HCSS Heavy Bid is preferred
Knowledge of
MS Office suite is required
Bachelor
degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred
1-3 years of
experience is preferred
